Technologies immersives et santé mentale : Efficacité de la méditation guidée en réalité virtuelle (VR) comparée à la méditation guidée non immersive
Résumé
Dans une société marquée par le stress et l’anxiété, la méditation en pleine conscience est de plus en plus utilisée comme moyen de gérer ses émotions. Ce travail explore l’intérêt d’y intégrer la réalité virtuelle (RV), en comparant les résultats d’une séance de méditation guidée immersive en RV à ceux d’une méditation guidée en vidéo/audio. L’étude expérimentale a impliqué 48 participant-e-s, réparti-e-s aléatoirement entre deux groupes (RV vs vidéo). Les effets ont été évalués à l’aide d’échelles psychologiques (PANAS, STAI, SMS) et de données physiologiques, en particulier l’activité cérébrale via électroencéphalogramme (EEG) (ondes alpha, bêta, thêta, gamma). Les résultats indiquent une réduction significative des affects négatifs dans la condition RV, mais aucune différence n’a été remarquée entre les groupes pour l’anxiété, la pleine conscience ou l’activité EEG. Ces résultats indiquent que la réalité virtuelle peut provoquer un engagement émotionnel plus fort et une expérience méditative plus intense, mais sans entraîner d’améliorations significatives à court terme sur les indicateurs cognitifs ou physiologiques. De futures recherches pourraient être faites pour explorer des séances répétées ou personnalisées afin de mieux exploiter le potentiel thérapeutique de la RV.
