Mon stress à moi : Ateliers interactifs conçus pour améliorer la compréhension des mécanismes du stress et encourager le développement de stratégies d’autorégulation chez des enfants âgés de 8 à 10 ans
Abstract
This work highlights the significant impact of stress on children and adolescents, often linked to academic pressure, social judgment, and high expectations. Many perceive stress as uncontrollable and purely negative, which limits their ability to cope effectively. However, stress is a natural and useful mechanism in the short term, though it can become harmful when it is chronic.
In response to this issue, a preventive approach is proposed through an interactive workshop designed for children aged 8 to 10. The aim is to help them better understand how stress works, recognize their own signals, and develop appropriate self-regulation strategies.
The project is grounded in findings from neuroscience and psychology, particularly the idea that one’s perception of stress strongly influences how it is managed. It therefore seeks to transform negative beliefs into a more constructive view, where stress is seen as a useful signal.
The intervention consists of several playful and educational sessions, supported by parental involvement. Its effectiveness is assessed through questionnaires administered before and after the workshops to measure progress.
Expected outcomes include improved understanding of stress, greater emotional autonomy, and a stronger sense of competence among children. Despite some methodological limitations, this approach represents an initial step toward early emotional education, which is essential for well-being and mental health.
