Étude développementale et dimensionnelle sur le TDAH en relation avec la réduction de l’épaisseur du cortex frontal dans une cohorte des jumeaux monozygotes

Résumé

L'objectif principal de la présente étude était d'analyser une cohorte de sujets neurotypiques afin de vérifier le maintien des symptômes du TDAH de l'enfance à l'adolescence et d'examiner si ce lien était médié par l'épaisseur du cortex frontal. Pour ce faire, cette recherche s'est appuyée sur la base de données du Quebec Newborn Twin Study (QNTS). De plus, le questionnaire Dominic Interactive et le pipeline CIVET de l'Institut Neurologique de Montréal ont été utilisés pour mesurer, respectivement, le degré de symptômes du TDAH et l'épaisseur du cortex frontal. Malgré une réduction significative de la gravité des symptômes au cours du développement, les résultats ont montré le pouvoir prédictif du degré du TDAH chez les enfants à l'adolescence. De plus, un pouvoir prédictif significatif et négatif du degré de symptômes du TDAH dans l'enfance sur l'épaisseur fronto-corticale à l'adolescence a été observé. Cependant, ce résultat n'a pas été confirmé dans l'analyse de la relation entre les symptômes du TDAH à l'adolescence et l'épaisseur fronto-corticale au même âge. La significativité de certains résultats met en évidence l'aspect dimensionnel du trouble. Cependant, l'hypothèse selon laquelle le maintien des symptômes du TDAH est dû à une déviance cérébrale au niveau de l'épaisseur fronto- corticale n'a pas été confirmée. Des recherches supplémentaires sont donc nécessaires.
